Kitchen Supervisor

Ralph's American Grill in Wilmington is looking for exceptional and experienced full time Kitchen Supervisor to join our team! Ideal candidates have previous experience in a high-volume restaurant, excellent customer service skills, and flexibility in schedule. The position requires a great deal of energy, a positive attitude, and desire to always wear a smile. 

Reports to: Director of F&B, and Executive Chef and Sous Chef. 

Classification: NON EXEMPT

Job Summary:

Assuring our guests experience is consistently maintained through supervision; delegations of staff. Assisting in the development of systems and procedures, while monitoring service standards and levels for consistency. To promote Ralph's American Grill's mission and vision statement through continual demonstration of actions. 

Essential Functions:

1. Oversees and supervises daily operations of the Back of House.

2. To be aware of budgeted and actual departmental targets. This to include sales, covers, and departmental profits

3. To be aware of and assist with the control of departmental operating costs to be in line with forecasted business levels

4. To maximize opportunities for departmental sales and profit and other related targets

5. To ensure effective stock rotation and maintain stock levels to include storage and use of equipment

6. To follow procedures for Ralph's American Grill at all times

7. To assist with maintaining and improving departmental operating standards

8. To assist with leading and motivating the departmental team to promote good team member morale and ensure a high level of commitment and pride

9. To carry out planned training and development in a systematic and professional way in order to meet the needs of the business and assist in individual team members personal development

10. To be fully aware of and comply company rules and regulations as identified in the team member handbook

11. Prioritizes, assigns and trains staff

12. Monitors integrity of operation and the service standards established

13. Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and service areas

14. Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances

15. Maintains a professional image, including proper uniforms, and appearance standards

16. Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents

17. Provide direction to team members regarding operational and procedural issues

18. Have complete knowledge of all policies, standards and procedures of the department       

19. Available for work assignments outside of associate’s customary work schedule.  This may include evenings, weekends and holidays

20. Adherence to all safety rules and regulations

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Must be able to understand and write English

2. Minimum of 2 years serving experience 

3. Must be ServSafe Certified
